The goals of the Austin College’s PA Program are to*:
Goal 1: Admit qualified applicants who will successfully meet criteria for progression and completion of the program
- Data to be used to measure outcome: admissions class profile (GPA, patient care experience hours); student attrition; graduation rate
- Benchmarks:
- Mean entering class GPA 3.4 or higher; Mean patient care experience hours of 500 or higher
- Benchmark: 10% or less student attrition
- Benchmarks:
Goal 2: Cultivate inclusivity by incorporating components of universal design throughout the curriculum
- Data to be used to measure outcome: components of universal design in program courses
- Benchmark: At least 60% of program courses will incorporate components of universal design
Goal 3: Deliver a curriculum that graduates practice-ready PAs
- Data to be used to measure outcomes: PANCE first-time pass rate, summative evaluation performances, student exit survey
- Benchmarks: First time PANCE pass rate at or above national average; 90% or higher first-time pass rate for summative end-of-curriculum evaluations; At least 90% of students perceive a readiness to enter clinical practice at the time of graduation
Goal 4: Foster a culture that values professional and community engagement
- Data to be used to measure outcomes: student engagement in professional organizations; student engagement in service to community; faculty engagement in professional organizations; faculty engagement in service to community
- Benchmarks: 90% of students engaged in professional organizations; 100% of students engaged in service to community; 100% of faculty engaged in professional organizations; 90% of faculty engaged in service to community
*Outcome data will be updated as the program’s development progresses and the first cohort of students matriculate and graduate.
